Mundi Mundi Lightfest is a free, three-night lead-in event lighting up Broken Hill ahead of the Mundi Mundi Bash. Across three evenings, Argent Street transforms into a vibrant, pedestrian-only night precinct featuring spectacular large-scale drone shows, walk-through lighting installations, live local music, street performers and great food.
It's the perfect reason to arrive early, soak up the town, and make a proper trip of it before heading out to the Mundi Mundi Plains later in the week. And if you're local? It's right on your doorstep, no ticket needed.

Hundreds of drones light up the sky above Argent Street at approximately 8.45pm each night, delivered by Elite Drone Shows, the team behind record-breaking spectacles in Victoria and Australia Day celebrations in Sydney. This marks the first time a large-scale drone show of this kind has come to Far West NSW.

The drone show has its own soundtrack, and it plays through your phone. Scan the QR code, turn your sound up and the audio starts on its own, synced to what is happening in the sky above you.

Is there a shuttle bus?
Yes, and it's free. Buses run 15 to 17 August from 5pm to 11pm, every 30 to 45 minutes depending on demand. Three services operate: the Racecourse Shuttle (Racecourse to Argent St at The Palace Hotel), Town Shuttle A (Broken Hill Tourist Park to Westside Plaza to Argent St) and Town Shuttle B (Outback View Holiday Park to Patton St Park to Argent St). Shuttle buses are proudly sponsored by the NRMA.
Is this the same as the Mundi Mundi Bash?
No. Lightfest is a separate free event held in Broken Hill from 15 to 17 August, ahead of the Mundi Mundi Bash which takes place on the Mundi Mundi Plains from 20 to 22 August. Think of it as the perfect lead-in to the main event.
Is it family-friendly?
Yes. Lightfest is suitable for all ages and runs in the early evening (6pm to 9pm), making it a great night out for the whole family.
