We strongly discourage Early Exit Pass holders from driving further than Broken Hill on Saturday night. Outback driving in the dark is significantly riskier than daytime driving. Early Exit FAQs
Can I still watch the Saturday night show with an Early Exit Pass? +
Yes! You can pack up your camp and move your car out between 2–5pm Saturday, then head back to watch the final night of music. Your car will be in Early Exit Parking — just make sure you're fully off-site by 10pm Saturday night.
Where do I go after I roll out of Mundiville? +
Once you're out of the campground you're free to leave straight away or park in Early Exit Parking and head off after the music. We strongly recommend staying in Broken Hill (35km away) overnight rather than driving further — outback driving in the dark is significantly riskier than daytime driving.
Why do I have to pay for the Early Exit Pass? +
Managing the number of vehicles on outback roads at night is a key safety consideration. We work closely with Broken Hill emergency services, council and police on this issue. The small fee (100% donated to RFDS) helps ensure only those who genuinely intend to leave early purchase a pass.
What if I miss the 2–5pm Early Exit window? +
If you miss the 2–5pm Saturday window, you will need to exit with general roll out on Sunday 23 August from 6am, or Monday 24 August from 6am to midday. Your Early Exit Pass will not be valid outside of the 2–5pm Saturday window.
Can I buy the pass on-site if I forgot? +
Yes — Early Exit Passes are available at the Merch tent on-site until sold out. However, passes are limited so we recommend purchasing online in advance to avoid missing out.
Is the Early Exit Pass available with the Protection Plan? +
Yes. The Protection Plan version costs $17 per vehicle (vs $15 for Standard) and adds refund protection for qualifying unforeseen circumstances. See the Protection Plan T&Cs for full details on qualifying circumstances.
