Everyone on site must follow the Mundiville Camp Rules. Read up before you leave home. Some require planning ahead.
Mundiville is on private property at Belmont Station, a working sheep station. These rules keep everyone safe and comfortable, and help us take care of this beautiful outback property so we can keep coming back year after year.

Licensed drones and a helicopter will be operating during the festival. For safety reasons, no other aircraft or drones are allowed over the festival or surrounding property.
Alcohol is permitted in cans, casks or plastic bottles. NOT IN GLASS.
It's a concert not a booze up, so please drink responsibly! Anyone who is intoxicated and causing a nuisance will be removed from the venue.
You must take ALL your black water (including toilet cassettes and any poo/wee in buckets or containers) with you when you leave. Do not put black water in the composting toilets and do not release black water on the ground.
If you're staying at a caravan park in Broken Hill or beyond, you can use their dump points. There are also public dump points in Broken Hill. Please be mindful while queuing and don't block roads.
Bikes, electric bikes, scooters and electric scooters are permitted at the Bash. An electric bike must have pedals. Unregistered motorbikes, petrol scooters and quad bikes are prohibited.
For crowd safety, bikes, e-bikes, scooters and electric scooters must not be ridden in the Plaza. You can still push your bike through the Plaza, and bike racks are located on the outside of the concert area fence.
Across the rest of the site, a 10km/h speed limit (jogging pace) is strictly enforced. The one exception is the Mountain Bike Track, where the kids can go to satisfy their need for speed.
There's no public charging facility on site, so bring your own generator (permitted to run between 8am to 8pm). Pack spare tyre tubes. The prickles love to deflate your day!
Bring your own firewood. Collection of firewood on the surrounding private property is prohibited, and at the request of the local community please don't collect firewood between Broken Hill and Mundiville either. A limited supply of firewood and ice is available for purchase on site.
- Campfires are permitted directly on the ground or in a firepit
- Keep fires to a reasonable size, no bonfires
- Site your fire well clear of tents, vans, annexes and your neighbour's setup
- Keep a bucket or jerry can of water beside your fire
- Never smother a fire with dirt. It stays hot underneath long after it looks out
- Ash from campfires can be left on the ground when you depart, just take any rubbish with you
- Powered saws (including chainsaws) are prohibited
Out here, a fire can spread fast. A bit of prep before you leave home makes a real difference.
Before you leave home
- Fit a smoke alarm near the sleeping area in your van, and test it before you go
- Pack a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket, and keep them near the exit
- Have a fire escape plan, and make sure everyone travelling with you knows it
- Turn off any pilot lights before you set off
- Check your gas pipes and connectors are in good order, and check them again after a long drive
- Gas cylinders should sit outside the van, secured, with valves facing away
At your campsite
- Keep heaters clear of the internal fittings in your van
- Never cook or smoke inside a tent
- Never leave cooking unattended, and keep matches and lighters secured
- Turn off lanterns before bed
If there's a fire
- Call for help on CB Channel 5, or use any of the options in the In Case of Emergency section below
- Know where your nearest emergency evacuation point is. They are marked on the Festival Map
- Tune your portable FM radio to Bash FM for updates on weather and any fire restrictions in force
More information is available on the NSW Fire + Rescue website.
To prevent the risk of a fire spreading, you must place all structures, generators and fires at least 1 metre from the marked back and side boundaries of your campsite. Guy ropes can protrude another 40cm. Marshals will enforce this rule.
If you're camping as a group across joined campsites, the 1 metre rule applies to the outer boundaries of the combined site. Leave space between your cooking area and other structures inside the joined site too.
Fireworks cause alarm and can send dogs bolting across the campground and into the outback. If you see someone setting up fireworks, inform an event official or volunteer immediately. Anyone found in possession of or setting off fireworks will be evicted from the event.
Generators are permitted but can only run between 8am and 8pm. If you need to run medical equipment overnight, ensure it runs off a battery that can be charged during the day.
Generators must also sit at least 1 metre from the back and side boundaries of your campsite. See Fire Separation above.
Broken glass is one of the most serious safety risks on the Plains, and it has been getting worse every year. One smashed bottle in the red dirt is a danger to our crew, our volunteers, fellow Bashers and their dogs, and it is almost impossible to find and clean up once it shatters.
- There is no glass recycling on site
- Do not place glass in recycling or general rubbish bins
- Do not leave glass behind at your campsite
- Any glass found in the concert area will be confiscated
The only exception is your camp kitchen, where glass items like sauce and condiment jars are fine. Everything else, please leave it at home.
There is no greywater disposal facility at Mundiville. Greywater can be disposed of on your own campsite in moderation.
- Biodegradable detergents and soaps ONLY. Collect all cooking oils and dispose responsibly
- Greywater can be tipped on the ground at your site as long as it doesn't flow onto roads, pathways or other campsites
- You can dig a small hole for greywater but must fill it in before you leave
- Consider bringing extra greywater storage drums for later, off site disposal
There are four ways to get help on site. Use whichever is quickest for where you are:
- Call 02 8852 5123: Patron Emergency Hotline. Voice calls only; don't text. Available if you have mobile reception or an internet connection.
- CB Channel 5: Call "Control Room" on your car or handheld CB radio. Use for emergencies only.
- Find a crew member: Look for yellow (crew) or orange (volunteer) hi vis vests.
- Event Office: Staffed 24 hours a day.
Know your location: Open the interactive map in the Bash App. It shows your exact grid location in the Mundiville campground, so emergency services can reach you fast. You can also use the number on your nearest toilet block or nearby street signs.
For full emergency info see Emergency Information.
We strongly recommend bringing a head torch or similar to the concert so you can find your way back to camp. The concert and main plaza areas have lighting, but the general campsite and Day Parking areas will not.
Quiet time in the campground kicks in at 10:30pm. Please keep the noise down. Quiet campfire chat is fine, but turn off the music. Respect one another and enjoy the desert!
The speed limit in Mundiville is 10km/h. Once you've rolled in and set up, the roads become walkways. Park up and don't move your car until roll out begins at 6am, Sunday 23 August.
If you need to leave during the Bash you can drive during permitted times, but you'll need to leave your car in Day Parking until Saturday 22 August. See Camping at Mundiville for full entry & exit details.
This includes sales of ice, firewood, alcohol, internet or Mundi Mundi Bash branded merchandise.
Aluminium can and PET plastic recycling bins are available in the Plaza, Concert Area and campground toilet blocks. Please collect your cans and PET bottles, drop them in the separate recycling bins and help us run a sustainable event!
- Pizza boxes: pizza box recycling is available in the Plaza Area
- Bottle lids: we collect lids separately. Remove them from your bottles and look for the lid collection points around Mundiville
- Food waste: compost your food scraps! Collect them at camp and drop them in the food waste bins outside the campground toilet blocks and in the Plaza Area
Please leave the glass at home: don't bring it, don't bin it. See the Glass rule above for full details.
Please help us keep this beautiful outback plain pristine! Remove extra packaging before you leave home.
Rubbish from your camp: You'll get one free Rubbish Sticker with each vehicle sticker, whether it arrives in the mail or you collect it at the Ticketing Office. Use it to drop one 80 litre bag of rubbish at one of three drop-off points along Rasp Avenue.
- Put the sticker on your rubbish bag
- Walk (don't drive) it to one of the three drop-off points along Rasp Avenue. See the Festival Map and check the app for opening hours
- A volunteer marshal will help you load it
- Extra Rubbish Stickers ($10 each) are available at the Merchandise Tent
There are no showers at Mundiville. If you plan to use your own camp shower, please follow the greywater policy above. If you don't have a shower set up, wet wipes are a great way to stay clean and fresh during the event.
No smoking or vaping within 10 metres of the concert area, food vendors and kids play areas. Please keep and dispose of your own butts!
Never smoke inside a tent, and make sure butts are fully out before you dispose of them.
You'll find blocks of hygienic, odourless composting toilets and hand sanitiser in the campground and around the Plaza and Concert area. These are serviced regularly.
Only poo, wee and toilet paper should go into the toilets. Chemicals and inorganic matter disrupt the composting process. Please use the bins provided for female sanitary items.
Use the provided hand sanitiser both before and after you use the facilities.
The concert is on private land and police and security will be in attendance.
You're all across the rules. Now it's time to get your ticket and start planning your Mundiville adventure.
